Our co-founder, DJ McCready, and head brewer at Deeds Brewing, Justin Corbitt, both hail from the Deep South of the USA so it didn’t take long before their collaboration beer chat turned to comparing their mother's fried chicken recipes. Five minutes later, they decided to forgo their original plans and instead brew a Southern IPA, aka the very first double deep fried IPA intended to be served with the finest fried chicken (see QR code.)
Created with a malt bill designed to replicate the colour of freshly fried chicken, the addition of Saaz hops in the whirlpool helps to complement the spice rub, whilst the combination of Amarillo, Citra, El Dorado and Centennial give the beer a refreshing, palate cleansing hit
